Chimney Sweeping, Caps, and Repairs

chimney_caps6.jpgAs a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild our focus is on keeping you and your family safe from fire hazards and indoor air pollution. Fireplaces can present many hidden dangers to you and your family including carbon monoxide poisoning and fire.

Preventing Potential Dangers

Regular maintenance and cleaning of your firebox, chimney and/or liner will help eliminate these potential dangers. We will be happy to inspect your chimney and provide you with an estimate including any areas of concern that we have found.

We Inspect:

  • The firebox where you light the fire.
  • The damper that opens and closes to control the draft.
  • We also check the interior of the chimney (flue liner) to ensure that there are no holes, cracking or damage.

Next, we go up to the roof to check the exterior of the chimney.

Here We Inspect:

  • The height of the chimney ( 3ft above the roofline within 10 feet of the peak.)
  • If there is a spark arrestor/cap on the chimney.
  • The crown, it should be free of any cracks or deterioration.
  • The moisture resistance.

Questions to Expect From Us:

  1. Are you having any smoking problems?
  2. Are you having any leaking problems?
  3. When was the last time you had this cleaned?
  4. How much wood do you burn?
  5. What kind of wood do you burn?
  6. Have you ever hade problems with animals getting in?
